The Penfolds Max's range pays tribute to the winery's first Chief Winemaker, Max Schubert, celebrating his relentless pursuit of excellence and the enduring philosophy of sourcing the finest fruit from Australia's best wine regions. Max's Cabernet Sauvignon honours this legacy with a refined take on one of Australia's most iconic varieties. Aromas of cumin, fresh clove, paprika and cardamom are complemented by savoury notes of roasted vegetables, olive oil, lamb and rosemary. The palate reveals rhubarb, cranberry, earthy beetroot and summer pudding flavours, layered with creamy oak nuances of cashew and walnut. Fine, powdery tannins deliver a smooth, balanced finish.

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon parcels sourced from vineyards throughout the Barossa. The fruit is fermented for up to 14 days, then aged for 12 months in a mix of French and American oak. Individual parcels of fruit are matured separately to maximise the blend's complexity and finalised through a selection process. The resulting wine is rich and concentrated with aromas of ripe dark berry fruits, blackcurrants and plums with mint and varietal leafy notes. The palate is plush with flavours balanced by fine, textural tannins.

Sourced from renowned growers across the region's celebrated sub-regions, each vineyard contributes its own distinctive character, creating a wine of richness, depth and regional expression. Layers of ripe blackcurrant and dark berry fruit are complemented by savoury herbal notes, subtle cigar-box complexity and fine, supple tannins, delivering a smooth, full-bodied Cabernet with a long, satisfying finish.

This Cabernet Sauvignon displays a bouquet of black briary fruit, cherry, spicy plum with hints of cigar box and violets, with the palate delivering ripe blackcurrant, morello cherry, red capsicum and chocolate notes complemented by hints of mint and cedar. A rich firmly structured wine with fruit, oak, and tannins in harmony.

The grapes were picked at between 13.5 to 14.0 Baume to produce the fruit flavours that are required to make this great wine. The grapes were fermented in a mixture of vessels to produce as much colour and flavour as possible. Portion of the wine underwent oak during fermentation and once dry, the remaining went to oak until the right balance was achieved. Careful tasting and blending, by Quarisa's winemaker, help produce this wine of style and great value for money.

Named after the family cottage built by Penfolds founder Dr Christopher Rawson Penfold in 1845, Rawson's Retreat honours the winery's rich heritage while offering an approachable taste of classic Australian winemaking. This medium-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon has aromas of red berries, blackberries, cassis and hints of nutmeg. The palate is soft and rounded with natural fruit sweetness, silky tannins, and a touch of spicy oak. This Cabernet Shiraz brings together two of Australia's biggest wine regions, Coonawara and Barossa Valley, to create a perfectly blended wine that is seamless, deep and complex. The bouquet of dark forest fruits such as plum, blueberry and cassis lead into a beautifully complex palate of blackcurrent, sweet plum and chalky tannins. There is a underlying savoury oak hint and a finish of lingering dark chocolate.

This is a wine of great intensity. It has distinctive blackcurrant and cassis fruit flavours. Subtle oak characters of cedar cigar box and spice are also evident. The tannins are fine and elegant - a hallmark of the varietal. The palate is well balanced, complex and fulfilling and lingers on the finish.
