This wine comes from the heart of Salento, where the composition of climate and soil is ideal for the development of Primitivo. The grapes are grown in small plots in areas of rare harmonious expression. A period of rest in wood completes the maturation process: producing a soft and seductive wine with evocative spicy notes.

The grapes for this prestigious Primitivo do not get harvested once ripe, but are left on the vine so that their ripening can go on. After about 15 days, grapes are over-ripened and dry out directly on the vine, giving a Primitivo with a complex bouquet of red fruits, raisins and clear hints of marasca cherry. Aged in barriques this Primitivo Appassimento Rinforzato is a wine which remains in your memory for its strong character and great personality.

The Six Grapes symbol dates back to the nineteenth century, when Graham's winemakers marked each barrel after harvest with grape symbols to denote quality. A barrel bearing six grapes signified a wine of exceptional complexity, structure, and balance, worthy of Vintage Port potential. By the early 1900s, Graham's began bottling wine from these select barrels under the Six Grapes label, establishing what would become its signature reserve port.
