Four Daughters have been periodically making this very attractive blended red since 2005. The current version is a 75/25 blend of Kumeu grown Malbec and Merlot. The wine is succulent and complex, rich and dry with soft tannins and ripe fruit characters.

The colour is a deep dense red with blood red hues. The aroma is a Shiraz dream, inviting you to delve deeper into its wonderous blend of developing fruit, earth, spice and oak. These intense characters are beginning to gather complexity and hint at this wines longevity, really showing off the concentration and depth from this very low yielding vintage. The palate is smooth, full, rich and powerful with great flavour and length.

Brilliant red in colour with a purple rim, the wine has an intriguing red fruit aroma with a hint of violet. It is a medium bodied wine, extremely easy to drink thanks to its dry harmonious taste & very soft tannins which perfectly match its low acidity. The finish is long-lasting and pleasant.

Deep garnet red in colour with violet reflections. Intense floral scents reminiscent of red currant and blackberry. The taste is harmonious, medium bodied with a light savoury undertone.

The degree of ripeness is a key factor in the yield of Salento IGT Primitivo - the grapes are examined daily until the perfect time for harvesting. This wine comes from the heart of Salento, where the composition of climate and soil is ideal for the development of Primitivo. The grapes are grown in small plots in areas of rare harmonious expression. A period of rest in wood completes the maturation process: producing a soft and seductive wine with evocative spicy notes.

The grapes for this prestigious Primitivo do not get harvested once ripe, but are left on the vine so that their ripening can go on. After about 15 days, grapes are over-ripened and dry out directly on the vine, giving a Primitivo with a complex bouquet of red fruits, raisins and clear hints of marasca cherry. Aged in barriques this Primitivo Appassimento Rinforzato is a wine which remains in your memory for its strong character and great personality.
